Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer for Framsikt

Role Overview

As the Senior/Tech Lead DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for guiding and managing the DevOps engineering team and ensuring that the DevOps practices are aligned with the organization’s goals. You will help develop and communicate the DevOps strategy. We are looking for an enterprising and experienced colleague who is proactive and has strong communication and argumentation skills. Product teams are releasing every few months mostly with manual infrastructure provisioning. The goal is to move towards CI/CD and automate the infrastructure provisioning as much as possible. We expect DevOps engineers to have a general knowledge of the product and be able to assist developers in identifying and analyzing issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and communication of the DevOps strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives

• Implementation and management of the infrastructure and processes necessary for rapid software development and efficient deployment of applications (CI/CD)

• Automation of software deployment

• Identification and implementation of improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the development and deployment lifecycle

• Work closely with development teams, IT operations, security, and others

• Assist developers in the product teams to identify and analyze production issues

• Ensure that security best practices are integrated throughout the DevOps processes and that systems comply with relevant regulatory and security standards

• Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to support the DevOps strategy

• Develop metrics and monitoring systems to track performance, availability, and reliability of applications

• Encourage a culture of continuous learning within the team. Keep the team updated with the latest DevOps practices and conduct regular training sessions

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers

Required Skills and Experience

• 6+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role with progressive responsibility

• Proficiency with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform for managing and deploying infrastructure in Azure

• Knowledge or experience with GitHub, Azure Cloud Services, deployment and maintenance of cloud solutions in Azure, Azure security concepts, features, and tools, Linux & Windows, Azure SQL databases, Azure networking features

• AZ-400 certification: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions

The newly forming infrastructure team will deliver the infrastructure that the product teams need to build, test, and deploy. Product teams are releasing every few months mostly with manual infrastructure provisioning. The goal is to move towards CI/CD and automate the infrastructure provisioning as much as possible. By delivering robust infrastructure management, both for testing and production, this team will play a key role in helping the product teams deliver a high-quality product to our customers.

The DevOps engineer should also have a general knowledge of the product as a whole and be able to assist developers in the product teams in identifying and analyzing issues that arise in the production environment.

Location & Reporting Line

You will be based in the Kosice office with the opportunity to work from home. The product and your team are located in Norway. You must also cooperate with PD teams in India (Bangalore) and later in Kosice. You will report to the manager in Norway.
